ATV & Snowmobile Trails

Van Buren is a paradise for trail riders, and Brookside Rapids Retreat offers access off Poplar street, plus ample room for parking trailers. The town is served by the Van Buren Pine Runners, whose extensive trail network connects region-wide for year-round adventure  . You can also explore the Aroostook Valley Trail (~28 miles of gravel multi-use path perfect for ATVs, snowmobiles, bikes, and hikers.

Kayak Rentals

Van Buren has kayak rentals on Bridge street. Prices are $25 for the first 2 hours and $15 per hour thereafter. More information can be found HERE

🎣 Fishing Spots & Licenses

Looking to cast a line? Van Buren is ideal for freshwater fishing , bass, trout, and more! You’ll find numerous public access points on local brooks and rivers.

License options:

  • ✅ Resident season (16+): $25
     

  • ✅ Non-resident season: $64
     

  • ✅ Short-term licenses: 1-day ($11), 3-day ($23), or 7-day ($43)
     

Buy online any time through Maine’s MOSES system or a licensed vendor. Licenses can be purchased online HERE
